Karmic Luck wins Life-saver £1 Million
On his way home earlier this year, a Father of two saved the life of a police officer. A few weeks later, in pure karmic luck, he won one million pounds.
On the way home from work, Anthony struck up a conversation with a police officer on the bus.
“I was on the bus heading home when I started chatting to the only other passenger, a policeman who had also just finished his shift.”
The two men sat together discussing the impending lockdown. As well as what they were having for dinner. Suddenly, the police officer collapsed due to a massive heart attack. Anthony quickly jumped into action.
“Thanks to my first aid training, and with help from the 999 operator, I was able to give him CPR while we waited for the ambulance. The guy was airlifted to hospital and after 5 days in ICU recovered enough to give me a call to thank me for saving his life. Obviously, him being alive was magic news but he jokingly said that I was due some good karma.”
Good Karma is exactly what came Anthony’s way weeks later when he won EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker. While checking his ticket for the previous night’s draw, Canty discovered he had scored an astounding £100 000. He immediately called his partner who realized he had made a mistake.
He said, “I called Katie to tell her the good news but she wouldn’t believe me and thought I was winding her up. So I gave her the Millionaire Maker code to check for herself. I heard her log on and then she started screaming, and said ‘You div, it’s one million! We’re millionaires, you have to come home!’
“The night before we discovered the win, we’d just bought one of our neighbour’s miniature Dachshund puppies for our daughter, so when they saw us in the garden with a glass of Prosecco at 9am, they joked that we were a bit over-excited about the new arrival!”
“Of course we’re so pleased about the puppy, who we’ve been waiting patiently to arrive for months, but it was amazing to say that we were actually celebrating a massive lottery win!
“They cheered with us and we all decided the puppy needed to be called Lucky Lola!
Little Lucky Lola will definitely be living a life of luxury thanks to her family’s newfound fortune.
Anthony who has been has been tirelessly working to maintain water quality supplied to hospitals has decided against quitting his job.
“I do know that I’m not giving up work; I like it and I’m proud of what we do, so I’m definitely not giving that up”.
The family are patiently waiting for borders to open up in hopes of taking their daughters and Lola, to Disneyland. Until then they are planning on buying a new house and making sure their girls are financially secure in the future.
As for the Police officer, Anthony kept in touch and even gave him a call to share the good news.
“I phoned him [about] the win and he said ‘good karma happens to good people’,”
